Structural fixings for making connections come in around 20 variants. They are generally hot-dip galvanised and furnished with a large number of holes for nails or screws. The number of nails or screws required and the holes that should be used depend on which forces the fixing is transferring. This is determined in the design process or in simpler cases using the manufacturer’s information.
