Embracing Moroccan heritage crafts and elegant design, I juggle with materials and shapes, with wood as my favourite material. Thanks to the coniferous structure of the spruce, with knots of different shapes and sizes, I have been able to augment the varied composition of the table with supports that emerge directly from the natural growing knots.
Biog: Jamil Bennani was born in Rabat in 1963 and has lived in a world of art since childhood. As the son of a well-known painter and with grandparents who worked as florists in Munich, a feel for colour, form and harmony became part of his life very early on. In 1985 he became a master joiner, having trained at L’Institut Saint-Luc Tournai in Belgium. Three years later he graduated in interior design and architecture at L’Ecole Supérieur des Arts Modernes in Paris.
