Swedish Wood Award 2016
The Swedish Wood Award (Sw: Träpriset) is presented every four years to a building that represents good architecture in wood and that reflects the times we live in. The winner of the Swedish Wood Award 2016 was the 12th winner since 1967, taking home the Golden Horse trophy and prize money of SEK 100,000, not to mention the honour. The nominees were also presented in the book ”Architecture in Wood”.
139 completed Swedish projects in which wood played a significant role were entered for the Swedish Wood Award 2016. All sorts of structures were represented in the competition: bridges, high-rise blocks and public buildings, plus private homes, holiday homes, parks and ventilation towers.
